Two parallel worlds.
Of all the castles of the Loire, it is probably the most curious. An authentic journey into the heart of the story, the visit combines the discovery of a Renaissance castle still lived in the dungeon of an incredible.
Go down the steps which lead you into the underground and you enter the Rock, a former stately home cave dug before 1063, quite invisible from the surface. You will learn turns kitchens, stables, ice plant, one of the largest rooms of France press… The path suddenly opens the deepest dry moat in Europe. Eighteen feet, which were extracted tufa stone that served as soon as 1420, the construction of the first medieval castle Brézé. This fortress has been transformed in the 16th century into a Renaissance castle, before being renovated by the famous Hodé at the middle of the 19th century.
The tour presents a rich collection of furniture and a few anecdotes about the property. Having belonged to the Prince of Conde, she has received many royal visits.
